Golbal Paratransit Inc. was fined by the FCC today $13,000 for failing to operate with narrowband equiptment and not identifying itself over the air with its call sign. The rules mandate that all systems operating between 150-470 MHz convert to 11.25 Khz bandwidth. The deadline to make the conversion was January 1st, 2013. Certain services and channels are exempt. The Commission has been threating to take action against offenders of the narrowbanding rules for some time. However, now it appears the FCC is taking measures to penalize offenders of the mandate.
