FCC Certified Frequency Coordination

In 1982 Congress empowered the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the authority to manage spectrum using frequency coordinators. Pursuant to 90.175 Private Land Mobile Radio (PLMR) users must, in most cases, use a certified frequency coordinator to procure their licensing. FIT was formed back in 1947 during early efforts by the FCC to reach out to various user groups to assist with spectrum management. The association has been active ever since.

You can read more about frequency coordination on the FCC website here.
